Awarua the taniwha of porirua
WALT:DEVELOP A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING PF THE TANIWHA OF NEW ZEALAND
Task Description: For literacy this week we have been learning about this Taniwha named Awarua. This taniwha wanted to fly because her friend Rereroa was telling her/him about the adventures she/he had when flying. He/She is also teaching Awarua how to fly.

Leah, it is so good to see you working on your literacy tasks while learning from home. I especially like your description of Nikau, your taniwha. I would like to know more about what Nikau looked like. Was he a colourful taniwha? Did he sparkle in the sun and glisten in the water? Perhaps his skin colour changed depending on the temperature of the water he was swimming in? What do you think?
